Locked in focus HELP

I am a 48 year old male very farsighted +7.50 and +5.00. About 8 mos ago I scratched my bifocals bad and had no bi focal back ups. I was forced to go back to wearing my single vision lenses. It was a transition but I did it. When I received my new Bifocals they were totally uncomfortable. It seemed my rx changed and astimatism too. Well, I had nothing but problems after that with 3 lab screw up and measurements wrong etc. All that time I was switching from bi focals back to my single vision. I rember a couple months ago literally feeling my eye muscles lock into my old single vision RX and now I finally have an RX that is right, but my eyes are totally locked. It is an amazing sensation and extremely uncomfortable. I really can't wear any glasses comfortable right now. When I take my glasses off to rest my eyes it feels better, but I can feel my eye muscles wanting to change, but seems they cant relax  Distance and close are painful, in particular distance. I have a history of problems when my RX changes. Very stressful. I am going to see an OPthamolist to see what can be done. I hope this will pass. Any advise to calm me.   Thanks

Dear patrick0,

I would definitely recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD to determine the cause of your symptoms.  Make sure you bring in your comfortable and uncomfortable glasses.  The issues may be caused by the thickness or curve of the lenses, the type of  bifocal, the prescription or centration on your eye.
