Long term kidney transplant--cataract tips

I had a successful kidney transplant over 35 years ago and have had steroid cataracts for most of that time.  Now I need the cataract surgery.  As a long term transplant patient, what should I be especially aware of around the cataract surgery, esp regarding dry eyes, infection, healing, and other things I should pay attention to?

Thanks!  Patty

I had a kidney transplant 43 years ago and I also had cataract surgery in both eyes in 2006.  I have always been near-sighted and gradually developed cataracts.  I had no trouble at all with cataract surgery or the recovery.  My eyes healed well and my vision improved.  I just followed the doctor's instructions and all went very well.
Good Luck, Suzy
