Loss of Central Vision

Loss of Central Vision

Posted By Tom on July 11, 1999 at 19:27:28
I am a 42-year-old male.  In the past year, I've experienced several episodes where my central vision disappears. Peripheral vision remains.  These episodes last for several minutes; the most was nearly 30 minutes long.  This happened to me yesterday.  Today I experienced difficulty with speech; e.g., I tried to say the word "coffee" and I either not produce it, or it came out as another word entirely.  This was followed by a headache.
I did have a great deal of coffee this weekend, mostly while driving (in excess of 600 miles).  Could caffeine be the culprit??
