Machine for Cloudy Vision

Machine for Cloudy Vision

My mother-in-law lives in Greece most of the year. She suffers from dry age-related macular degeneration. She has been seen by several wonderful physicians in the Philadelphia area always seeking something new that might help her vision. On this last visit she told us about a "laser treatment" she had in Greece where they put contacts on her temples that she said looked like earphones(buds) that were attached to a machine on the desk. The doctor flipped a switch and a cloudiness, that she describes as a curtain over one eye, was instantaneously gone. The cloudiness has returned and she can't understand why the doctors in America have not offered her this treatment. Is there such a treatment? What could be causing this transient cloudiness in he vision? Thanks for any light you can shine on this.

Dear flashflood50,

I would speak with her eyeMD’s to determine what type of treatment this might be.  I cannot determine this from your description.
