Macular degeneration symptoms?

I am 43 and my left eye is showing the symptoms of macular degeneration. Wavey lines, distorted faces. It looks like I am looking through water or a bottle, but only at the very centre of my vision. I have been to the opticions, and referred to opthalmology at the hospital, but after a variety of tests, I have been told that there is nothing wrong, and that its probably stress? Is this possible, its quite disturbing.

See a retinal specialist.  You may have central serous retinopathy.  Make sure you get an OCT and a flourescein angiogram.

Yes, done that and its distorted, but the experts cant find anything to suggest there is a problem. They took pictures of the back of the eye and said there was nothing there. Weird.

Have you tested yourself with an Amsler grid? If not, call one up on the internet. This is the simplest test for macular degeneration.
