Membrane peeling and vitrectomy recovery

Hi, my husband had an eye vitrectomy with membrane peeling for the vision distortion on 5th March 2015. Till now his eyesight is worse than before. and he is very worried. He had finished all the eye drops and it looks like there is no infection and other complications. with the follow up scan. it can see that the retina membrane looks more swollen than before.
He wants to know why his eyesight is worse than before and can he use computer now? his job require to use computer for almost everything. And he is worried if he uses the computer,  is this going to affect his eye recovery? If he still off sick for another month, this may cause him lost his job. what can we do now? is there any treatment to help him recover soon? or any medicine? can he exercise?  can some one give me more structive and detailed advice? thanks.

I know that eye surgery is daunting, but you need to be patient.  The  surgery was only yesterday!  I suspect that his eye will remain dilated for another couple days.  That alone will cause blurry vision.  On top of that, a vitrectomy is delicate business and takes time to heal. I never had a peel, but I have had two vitrectomies.  It sounds like his surgeon was happy with the day one post op visit.  That is exactly what you want to hear.  I suggest that your husband avoid bright light and just relax.  I took lots of naps and returned to work after a week.  If he is eager to get back to his computer, buy a cheap eye patch from a drug store so he can focus exclusively with his good eye.   Good luck!
