Migraines

Hello - I was recently told by my eye doctor that I have a mole in my left eye. While he and I had a discussion regarding the mole and how it is very common I was ok when I left the office. However, I have a few medical things that are going on for a few years and now wonder if they may be related to the mole.

I get very bad migraines that I have to treat with medication and they are always on the left side around my eye. Additionally, for the last 4 years I will wake up in the night thinking that I was crying in my dreams and my eye (left or right) will be bleeding and passes a membrane and/or a blood clot.

Is it possible that the mole could be a contributing factor to these conditions?

The answer is no - I see no relationship.  The mole is probably a "choroidal nevus" which is a benign common finding.  If the nevus is quite large or thickened there can rarely be the develoment of a choroidal melanoma - so pictures should be taken and the nevus should be examined every 6-12 months as needed.
