Mixing Mono and Multi focal iol's

I had cataract surgery in June 07 with Rezoom implant, and then ERM surgery in Feb. 08 which went "perfect" per Surgeon. Vision in now 20/30 but I don't see as clearly as before cataract surgery.  I have had bad halo, glare, an double vision in low light situations like a Walmart stores floresenct(?) ceiling lights. I am now considering explanting to a mono lens but Dr. tells me that my vision may not improve and could be worse as they can not use the same eye sac or pocket for new implant as I also had yag treatment.  Since my other eye has a cataract and will need surgery before too long- my Question is- Can you mix a Rezoom lens and a Mono-focal lens successfully- what are odds of good results?  I  don't want to be handicapped in both eyes by another Rezoom experience. Also, can the Mono lens provide quality distance vision nearly as good as regular eye sight?  Appreciate your responses. thanks

I will take the fifth on this one because no one can really tell you how you will adapt to the situation.  We can speculate but will never know how you personally will do.  I will go out on a limb and say you will probably do better with a monofocal lens in the other eye than with rezoom (based on the results with first eye.)  The monofocal lens can provide distance vision as well as ANY implant BUT you must remember that all your refractive error (especially astigmatism) may not be corrected with ANY implant and you may still need glasses to see your best.
