Monovision with extreme myopia

Monovision with extreme myopia

I have just had cataract surgery on one eye, with an IOL ultra-correcting distant vision to 20/15. The question is what to do about the other eye.   Should I try for correcting near vision and hope to do without glasses at all, or correct for distance and use glasses for reading ?

My latest prescription (before surgery) was
SPH:  OD  -775  OS -900
CYL  OD -175   OS -175
AXIS OD 95    OS 95
ADD 325

With such extreme myopia, what are the issues to be considered in deciding what the second implant should be ?

This has been discussed at length. Use the search feature and archives. Your options are both for distance, second eye for mid (mini-monofocal distance bias) or full monofocal where second eye is for reading witghout mid range vision. This latter is the most difficult to get use to.
