Motion sickness after RD?

Motion sickness after RD?

I had surgery 2 months ago for a complex retinal detachment.  I had a gas bubble and then the detachment recurred, and I had a second surgery 3 weeks ago and now have silicone oil in my eye.  I also have developed a cataract, which the Dr. says he will correct when the oil is removed, maybe in about 6 months.  I have not been working or driving, and have not been going out and about very much.  Recently, I have been becoming nauseous even on short car trips, and I'm wondering if it is related to my lack of vision in one eye?  I am getting so frustrated, as I seem to develop a different problem from week to week with this eye thing!  Also, my pupil remains dilated, even though I no longer am on the drops (Hyacine?) that dilated it.  Could this be permanent?

Your condition is not stable so don't give up home. Most of the time this is "rivalry" which is due to your brain getting a blurred image from the RD eye and a clear image from the other eye. Its like having two people talking to you one in the right ear and the other in the eye ear. You can't hear either. You would hear better by plugging one ear.

For driving consider patching or covering the bad eye. Don't pitch it all the time.

This should get better after the healing is done and the cataract is removed.
