Hi all, thanks in advanceAdvance care plus Advance relief for the advice.
My husband and I both wear contact lenses, and have for many years. Unfortunately, for a long time, my husband has the idea that it is okay to reuse his contact solution that he stores his contacts in for very long periods of time. I have tried to get him to understand that this can and will cause infection or other serious problems, but he insists that I don't know what I'm talking about and that I, in turn, use "way too much" solution. I rinse my contacts thoroughly and use fresh solution every night for storage, but I don't think I use too much by any means. How can I convince him that what he's doing is not good for him, his contacts, or his eyes? How can I convince this stubborn guy that it is potentially very dangerous for him to be doing this?
Thanks for your advice.
I don't know how to "convince" your husband, other than suggest he spend some time reading this site. Perhaps then he might come to appreciate his eyesight and take necessary care of it. The "rules" regarding contact lens care are for the health of his eye - if he chooses to disregard them - then he risks damage to his eye.
