My right eye keeps turnnig red with contacts..whats wrong!?

So i've been wearing soft contacts FOREVER, a couple weeks ago, my right eye has been acting weird.  I noticed that it started to get really red and dry when i would be on the computer for a while, so I would take them out.  Now it just seems like its never getting better.  I went back to the eye doctor and he told me I was probably wearing my contacts for too long- which is true, i was not throwing them away every 2 weeks like i should have been- but he said he wasnt sure why it was just my right eye. So he gave me eyedrops, and i wore my glasses for a week while using the eyedrops.  My eye was clear and everything looked good, so i wore my contacts all day- it was fine.  Then i wore them all day the next day, and again it was fine until later at night-it turned red. But it never hurts...it actually sometimes feels better when I have my contacts in... So the next day I tried again because the redness went away over night...and everything was fine until later that night again... SOO- Now i've been wearing my glasses, and I HATE wearing my glasses..I cant wear sunglasses, I cant go running, I cant swim, I cant do anything in my glasses and they are really annoying to me. I dont know if i qualify for Lasik because i have a stigmatism... And also-- my eye doc. ordered new contacts with a different size for my right eye because he thought that might be it..but a few weeks after my eye turned red,  my boyfriends eye did the same thing; so now im wondering if maybe its a virus instead?? My eye has been okay, so yesterday I put my contacts in just long enough to go workout (so i had them in for about 2 hours) and i was so relieved it was fine all night..but i woke up this morning with my eye red, and watery and itchy (and i have my glasses on)... I JUST want to be able to enjoy my summer and wear my contacts again :(  Is there anything my doctor doesn't know?? Please help!! And sorry this was so long- it's been quite an adventure with my eye :\     Thanks soo much!
