Myopia Progression

i am 15 years old with high myopia (-9.00)

i want to know why some of my classmates progress little e.g. 0.25 diopters per year while others such as me progress by as much as 2.00 diopters per year

i really want to know because i don't play computer games and i have tried everything from eye exercises to wearing weaker correction

Myopia or nearsightedness may have some inherited component which may determine why yours is progressing and other friends of yours is not.  It may progress at different ages and at different rates.  At your age, it is quite common to see some progression in the amount of nearsightedness.

If you're 36 years old with a high myopia of 725, would there still be a time wherein it would stabilize?
