Myopia and retinal detatchment

Posted By Pattie on June 09, 1999 at 08:42:37
I last asked you about shimmering and now have an appointment with a neuro-opthamologist.  My question today is about severe myopia and retinal detatchment.  If the two are often related, as I have seen you report, would it do me any good to have the laser surgery to improve my nearsightedness.  In other words, would this lessen my odds of retinal detatchment which seems to go along with severe myopia?  Thanks in advance.
