Need Help with Corneal Edema Please

Since I haven't received a response, I am re-posting my questiion.  I'm 61, had cataract surgery on 9/10/07, and have had corneal edema ever since.  Presently being treated with steriodal drops and Murio drops for the edema, and still cannot see.  Do you know anything about low humidity being advantageous for corneal edema vs high humidity climates?  I am doing all that I can do to help myself.   Thank you.

The humidity is not going to have any meaningfull effect on your corneal edema. From a theoretical point only your edema would benefit from low humidity so that the cornea lost moisture to the air----the opposite would happen with high humidity. Again the weather will have no bearing on whether your cornea clears or not.

If your cornea does not clear 1. be sure that your Descemet membrane was not stripped during surgery. By now you should have been seen by a corneal specialist. If not get a referral set up in the very near future.  2. If your cornea doesn't clear and surgery becomes necessary be sure you are sent to a cornea specialist that does DSAEK (Descemet's Stripping Automated Epethelial Keratoplasty) a new procedure to replace most forms of corneal transplant. Its safer, faster healing and gives much better results. Not all corneal specialists can do this procedure.
