Need help with explanation and suggestion regarding my eye prescription

Hi,
I was feeling that fine print seemed to be blurred since last few months. I went to a doctor and he gave me prescription, which when I took to opticians for glasses preparation, different people were giving different explanations and could not answere my questions to my satisfaction.
My prescription is as follows:

                   ADD

L                +0.75

I want to know:
Do I need glasses for far vision also that should be worn all the time or I need only for reading.
Can I use over the counter ready made reading glasses, for example with +1.00 power. I tested it and I could read through it very easily.
What does this prescription tells about my eye conditions.

Honestly this is an incredibly weak prescription and I wonder if you may not even be able to tell the difference with them on.  I suspect you would find reading even easier with the $10 over the counter readers - just like you said.  Please call your doctor to talk about the situation and ask the same question you asked me.
