Not floaters but lblack and white lines

Im 20 and have had this happen every once in a while as far as i can remember

So every once in a while my vision loses brightness a alittle bit. and when this happens, i see short squiggly lines that look like they rapidly change from black and white. This takes up alot of my outer vision and last probably up to 20 seconds at the most.

I have asked my optometrist but they said it wasnt anything to worry about. But i dont think they under stood my description. Also they have told me i have larger than normal optic nerves, but is not glaucoma.

Your optometrist is WRONG. Remember an optometrist is not a physician, does not have a MD degree, has not been to medical school and not had an internship or residency.

You problem could be a eye migraine (often with no headache) or it could be a transient ischemic attack caused by disease of the heart, brain or blood vessels.

You need to see an Eye MD the optometrist isn't good enough. Find one at www.aao.org or ask your GP to recommend one.

Use the search feature on this page to look up "eye migraine" and "TIA"

Optometrists should only fill Rx from MDs for glasses. You need an exam by an OPHTHALOMOLOGIST, an MD. Find one at www.aao.org.
