Now we have it what do we do?

Posted By Mark on August 18, 1999 at 20:47:46
Recently my father was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration. He has wet in one eye and dry in both. He is at the beginning stages and has not lost total high definition in either eye. In the wet eye he has lost clarity the other eye is OK. He is 78, white and his mother (my grandmother) has similar problems, in fact she was blind when she died in her 90s. My father has been told that there is nothing that the doctors can do.
My question are 1. Is there any chance of any recovery to the wet eye? 2. Is there any activity that he should not participate in such as watching TV or a computer monitor or strenuous activities. 3. Will limiting light to the eyes slow the process.
Thanks for the help,
Mark
