Nystagmas

When I wake up and open my eyes, I see what I thought was flashing  or flickering vision. My boyfriend told me my eyes were wobbling from side to side. This happens whenever I have had my eyes closed for an extended period of time. I was told this was called Nystagmas. Should I be concerned about this?

Yes, especially if its new and has not been present in the past. If possible you should see a neuro-ophthalmologist. You can go to www.aao.org and use the Find An Eye MD feature to locate one in your area. This is an Eye MD ophthalmologist-physician with addtional training in neurology.
