Nystagmus and Retinal Detachment

Nystagmus and Retinal Detachment

Hello, I am a 25 year old male who was born with Con. Glaucoma and Nystagmus.  I have a question for someone who really knows what they are talking about lol.  I know that retinal detachments are a medical emergency but if I were to have one, would the fact that I have nystagmus hasten or speed up the rate at which it would completely detach?  Another way of asking, since I have nystagmus is a retinal tear or detachment more of an emergency for me than for someone without nystagmus?  Thank you very much.

Unless you are highly nearsighed you not at increased risk (for 'normal' people risk is 1 in 8500).

No the nystagmus would not make the RD more or less of an emergency.
