Nystagmus and strabismus

Hi, i am going to have strabismus surgery. On the left eye which is turning out i have a nystagmus, the nystagmus only becomes apparent when i use the eye on its own for a few minuites.

Could you tell me what sort of impact the nystagmus will have on the strabismu surgery?

Also what are the implications of having nystagmus with starbismus?

Normally the strabismus operation will not be complicated by nystagmus. Your latent nystagmus will likely be unchanged. Be sure to ask your surgeon these questions he/she can answer it far better than I knowing your individual case.
