Nystagmus

by Elizabeth29803, Nov 18, 2008 10:53AM
My son is 10 years old with Nystagmus.  He was born with this condition and we been to multiple doctors with out any results. His vision is 20/80 and social skiills are becoming a huge problem at school due to the teasing. Does anyone know an excellent Doctor that they can refer me to that knows about this condition?  I need a Doctor that wants to help!  Willing to go anywhere....to help my son.

Normally congenital nystagmus is permanent and is associated with lifelong reduced vision. See a pediatric ophthalmologist. Find one near you at www.aao.org   he may be helped but its unlikely "normal" eyes can be restored.
