Occular Rosacea

just wondered how rare occular rosacea is. The specialist said he had about a half dozen cases like mine where in manifests itself more in the eyes than the skin .In any case I have chronic conjunctivitis as well and it seems that when my Rosacea flares the conjuctivitis does as well--are they related?? The specialist spent several mins going over the results of the condition and how to treat it and even how I could regulate my meds and look for early signs. He did say it had to do with Bacteria I believe and I think the eye doc said the conjuntivitis did as well .  I use eye wash and Celluvisc for severe dry eye on a reg basis and of course the eye wash rinsed the mucus out but when bad it returns within  30-60 mins.

Is there any eye drop that kills bacteria if thats the issue here? It seems to me that if bacteria is the problem killing it in the eyes would be the answer. May be dumb question but just wondered.

Its important to find the exact cause of ocular rosacea, otherwise it just keep on coming

it may be  due to scalp dandruff, dusty environment, skin disease etc

If you can control these, ocular rosacea & all its related symptoms will gradually go automatically.

Ocular Rosacea is common. You may need oral antibiotics, use the search feature and archives to read about the treatment of blepharitis which is what OR causes.
