Optic Nerve Drusen

I am 26 years old and have 20/15 vision in both eyes.  During an in-depth physical, optic nerve drusen was discovered and is a limiting factor for my career advancement.  I have never had any problems with my vision whatsover and was told there is nothing that can be done to reduce or remove the drusen - and... it may or may not be a problem later in life.  Is there any new technology or research that promises positive results to remove/reduce/negate optic nerve drusen?

Why will this limit your career advancement?  Most cause no problems.  Also, there is not treatment.
