I went to the eye dr. yesterday (she is an OD), who I had never seen before. I don't question her ability has a dr., as she did all of the same tests, etc. that I have had done at any other eye dr. I have ever seen.
She told me that my right optic nerve was bigger than my left. I have never heard that and have been having yearly eye exams since I was 10 (I am 26). My vision is worse in my right eye. I have trouble seeing distance.
I also have Meniere's Disease, unilaterally, and it happens to be on the right side. I received gentamician injections to try to treat that last November. That treatment comes with a whole bunch of side effects.
When I asked the dr. what it meant, having 2 different sized optic nerves, she didn't give me a straight answer. I was wondering a.) what it means and b.) could it someone be related to the Meniere's or the treatment?
I have searched the literature in the databases at my university and haven't been able to find an answer.
Thanks
