Optic nerve surgery
About four years ago, my boyfriend was involved in a terrible car accident that left him with a brain injury causing him to have short-term memory loss, seizures that can be controlled with medicine, and blindness in his left eye.  Apparently, some collision that occurred during the accident had totally shot his optic nerve.  Although he has not heard anything about a surgery to restore his sight back, I was wondering if doctors are working on a way to fix shot optic nerves, or if there is possibly a surgery available, yet?

No surgery at this time to restore the optic nerve.
