Oral Prednisone and Glaucoma

A few years back I was treated with Predforte in both eyes and developed a supersteroid response within 2 weeks. My IOP in one eye went to 53 and 42 in the other. The predforte was discontinued, and the MY IOP was treated with high doses of timoptic, alphagan, xalatan and was initially brought down with a drug commonly used for brain swelling, I forget the name. Anyway, I have developed a severe ear infection and my ENT doctor wants to put me on a 4 day dose of 40 mg of oral prednisone, tapering off to 10 mg in 7 days. How likely is this going to cause a supersteroid response and is my glaucoma likely to get worse in this short of a course of treatment?
Thanks

You are extremely sensitive to steroid eye drops making it likely that you could also have the same problem with oral steroids.

If at all possible it would be best to avoid steroids by mouth, injection or drops.

I would suggest having your ENT call your Eye MD and discuss the problem.
