PLEASE HELP ME

For the past year and a half I have had horrible eye problems...It started at my old house (where it is believed to have had black mold), I had pink eye, so I went to the doctor, got eye drops and it went away. A few weeks later my eye had the sensation of a foreign object, which I was able to identify as just discharge..so I pulled it out. My eye literally felt like it caught on fire and swelled shut. For days my left eye was swollen and red. After crying myself to sleep one night I woke up and it was gone. Few days later it came back, this time in my right eye. So for the next few months I just dealt with it until I went to an ophthamologist and he literally said "must be a viral infection," gave me suspension eyedrops and sent me off. I tried these for a month, twice a day. All they did was coat the mucus by turning it white which was easier to identify and pull out. Noticed that the outer ring of my iris had changed colors..my eyes have always been green, they now have a dark blue circle around both irises that was never there before. Called my ophthamologist, went back in for an emergency appt where he just simply told me to not use the eyedrops. Well, it's been a year now and I'm still having the same problem, daily. Also now when I pull my eyelid down, there are bubbles that come out from behind my eyes, and sometimes my mucus has what honestly looks like tiny, thick black hair..almost like a spiders leg. I have migraines and EXTREME pressure where it literally feels like a ball of pus is going to shoot out of both my eye sockets. I've learned to sort of keep it under control but sometimes it's just unbearable. It's now gotten so bad that I am constantly late to work because I CANNOT see when I first wake up. The film completely takes over my entire eyeballs. I spend hours a day having to take the mucus out because if I don't it just burns and collects like a snowball...getting bigger and bigger. I've tried over a dozen different kinds of eyedrops, I've since then seen an optometrist and allergist, knowing its not my allergies...I'm 23 years old and have had horrible year round allergies. So bad that I was on shots for quite some time in my teens but eventually stopped going due to change in insurance. I've NEVER experienced anything like this. I cry myself to sleep every night thinking that I'll never find a cure.  It's driving me crazy and no one will even listen to me. They just tell me I'm crazy until I literally pick a wad of mucus out of my eye and show them. It's affecting my work and my relationships with others. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME. I'm on wits end and I'm begging for an answer. I feel like I'm on mystery diagnosis...

I had a cataract removed left eye with the acrysof IQ monofocal on  my left eye. My eye prescription before cataract surgery was -.75x-3.500x020(od)
                                                                       -4x-1.25x010     (os)

after cataract surgery                                   -4.25 +3.75x110(od) plus prescription
                                                                         +.50+.75x090    (os) plus prescription

I don't have cataracts on my right eye, so there seems to be an imbalance driving me crazy. I didn't have an imbalance before the surgery. I also have keratoconous, so prk/ lasik is not an option. Can you tell me the diopeter difference of two eyes post up cataract surgery? According to surgeon it is 2.25 which he said my eyes should be able to handle but they're not. For some reason i ended up farsighted on left eye instead of plano. Any suggestions as tho what should i do?

Thank you Jon C Hagan for your options. I'm thankful that patients have a place like this to take out their concerns. I was thinking about one thing +.50+.75x090    (os) . Since replacing the iol monofocal lens is a great risk. Just in my head do you think that by putting a -4 lens in order to induce myopia and then glasses that correct the small amount of astigmatism would be of help. that way there wouldn't be such a difference between the two eyes. what i'm trying to say is to purposely leave the eye myopic with contact lenses and then trying to alleviate this problems with glasses, making the prescriptions with less of a difference(diopeter) between the two eyes.

glasses on top of the contact lens in this particular eye..

I actually had to stop wearing all eye makeup because it makes it worse. No pets =\ thank you TMMcGarity for your honest answer. I know it's not my imagination because I've shown it to friends and family because for a second I thought I was going crazy...thank you so much though I will be calling a new ophthamologist tomorrow!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
There are 2 conditions which I can think of, and only one of them I can remember the name. The first is a condition where a patient will describe black hairs like spider legs which sometimes "shoot" out of the eye. This condition (can't remember the name) is more perceived than real (sorry). If you have this condition I would strongly encourage you to seek the help of a pyschiatrist. Please don't take that statement as a negative one, but just know that they may provide some help for your affliction. The second syndrome is call Mucous Fishing Syndrome. This is a chronic condition which occurs with Dry Eye Syndrome or Ocular Surface Disease Syndrome. In this syndrome, the patient reaches into the eyelids (fishing) and pulls out strings or balls of mucous. This causes trauma to the soft tissue inside the eyelids and further snowballs the situation making the mucous production worse. You should seek the second opinion of another ophthalmologist and discuss this with them. I wish you the best and I hope you can find some relief.

Sincerely,
Timothy D. McGarity, M.D.

With this condition I've also been having flashes...like someone literally threw a bag of colorful glitter at my face. It sparkles and changes colors for about 10-15 seconds then goes away.
