PSC can't read or drive, happened fast

I'm 50.  Was diagnosed with PSC in both eyes in Dec 07.  By Jan 08 could no longer drive or read.  Wait time for the best surgeon is 3 mos and I don't think I will make it.  My concern about going to another surgeon is:

cataracts are very dense.  First eye doc I went to could not measure my eye on IOLMaster and could barely work the ultrasound.  At this point I found the "best" doc who was able to work the ultrasound and got good measurements.

I'm concerned about going to yet another doctor and having the measurement fiasco again.  I doubt an eye doc would want to use someone else's measurements.  What should I do?

Also, because my cataracts seem to be so dense and have progressed so rapidly, is retinal tearing a greater possibility?

Thank you,
ellin

You only have two choices: 1 wait for the "best" surgeon  2. See another that can operate sooner.

You will have to make the choice. You are right most Eye MDs want to do their own measurements.

Good point with 2 million cataract surgeries/year in the USA almost all eye MD s have a lot of experieince with that type of surgery.
