Pain and redness on left eye -help!

I am glad to find this forum because I really need some help. I am a 42yr old female that move to MD 2 yrs ago and since then something begin with my left eye. First I beging to notice that everything on the distance begings to look blurry on my left eye only; when to the optometrist and 20/20. Then one night I had this sharp pain in that eye (like a knife went thru) and next day I have a bloddy eye. When to the ER, they send me to the ofthalmologist and they give me like 5 prescriptions because they don't really find anything. I continue with the pain (around my eye, like in my eyebrows), they suspected MS and they did a spinal tap, that was negative, they did blood test for Lupus and was negatine (this wa sthe neurologist)...so finally the neurologist give up and decided to refer me to a reumatologist but by that time I give up too and never went.  One year later (now) my eye still red, in pain and my vision in that eye is better some days and others not. I had been trying everything, antibiotics, eye drops...I went last week to another eye doctor and this one put a paper on my left eye and she mention that I have very little tears and she thinks that all this is dry eye. Can dry eye give you pain in your eyebrows, burning sensation and 24/7 bloody eye?
If someone have any susgestion or any idea please let me know I am to teh point that my life is misserable since I am in this pain all teh time... I put artificial tears but that doesn't help neither...I do expend 6-8 hrs a day in the computer at work

Thanks so much...It sounds that you concour with my Doctor here, however I never think before this can be so painful. They did ask me if I want the punctal plugs however I read bad things about those in the internet, I beging to take flaxseed oil suppplements about 3 days ago and for Restasis (which the Doctor mention) she said it can take up to 3 months to see results, if I see results, since it doesn't work for everybody.

It is a way that I can restore my tear production back again on my eye? Why stop working on the first place?
Thanks so much!

It sounds like the current working diagnosis is severe dry eye keratopathy which could very well cause your symptoms.  In fact it can cause pain in the eye and blurred vision and is made much worse by excessive computer work.  See what your new ophthalmologist wants to do for the condition.  Consider punctal plugs, oral flaxseed oil supplements and restasis drops as possible treatments.  Good Luck.
