Pain ever gone?

Pain ever gone?

My husband had a penetrating eye injury of a 2mm piece of steel november,2007.  He had surgery to remove the steel, a 4mm tear in the retina sutured, lense and lense sac removed, buckle applied to the retina and sutures applied in iris and cornea.  He had another surgery in february to put in a lense, and to drain fluid that had leaked behind the eye.  Since the lense was inserted, he continues to have intermittent pain, redness and light sensitivity, along with double vision in that eye.  The pressure of the eye is apparently within normal range.  It was suggested that he get a prism put in the lense of his glasses.  Will this help the light sensitivity and pain, or will this disappear with time?

I see no reason why it will help with light sensetivity. You might consider tints in the lens or photochromic (transitions) that darken and lighten.  As to the pain he's had a horrible injury and lots of major surgery. Discuss your concerns with the surgeon that takes care of him. He/She is in a much better position to tell you about that.k
