Pain in the Eye

Hello,

Last night I had a headache at the temples of my head, which is a common occurrence for me, so I shrugged it off. But when I went to go to bed, I was struck with a pain in my right eye, just bad enough to keep me from getting to sleep. I figured it must be the headache doing it, so I get a warm washcloth and cover my forehead with it. That helped enough that I was able to fall asleep. Two hours later the pain woke me up and nothing I can do has been able to stop it. It hurts mainly when my eyes are shut and there is a bit of light sensitivity.

I do wear both glasses and contact lenses, but I haven't worn contacts in a month or two. Also I am having a bad time with allergies. Should I wait and see if the pain subsides or deal with it ASAP?

Pain in the eye calls for prompt attention. Especially two days before Christmas. try and see an ophthalmologist today or tomorrow. Find one near you at www.aao.org
