Pain with eye movement behind left eye PLEASE HELP me with some info!

For the past couple of weeks I have been experiencing a slight pain or discomfort behind my left eye (with eye movement). I have also been experiencing occasional headaches, a somewhat tender left temple and slight neck discomfort (left side). I am a 20 year old female. I have been to my physician who had me get a CAT scan (which came out just fine) and I have also been to an opthamologist and got no negative results from him either.  My doctor put me on Biaxin and Claritin for a sinus infection (what he presumes I have) but I have been taking the antibiotics for a week and they don't seem to be working well enough.  I need some information concerning my symptoms and what I could possible be diagnosed with...I am getting a little worried! Can somebody please give me some kind of information? Any kind? Thank you!

It is hard to make any definitive diagnoses without examining you but I will provided you with some information.  Pain with eye movement could be due to sinus disease but this should improve with the appropriate treatment.  Optic neuritis can cause similar symptoms but this is usually associated with decreased vision and there should be some findings on eye examination.  Orbital inflammatory disease could also cause similar symptoms but you would expect some abnormalities on the CT scan.  If you continue to have problems you may want to consider seeing a neuro-ophthalmologist for evaluation.  Check with your doctor to see if he/she thinks this is improving.  I hope this has been helpful.
