Path Myopia

Hello, doc.

I'm doing a research at school about myopic degeneration. I have a question for my research. Just to show me the path to start a research on a science database for the literature.

Do exist any research or pioneer drugs, methods, there are not known in public discussions yet or are very new or in the very beginning to cure or prevent:

1. complications of path myopia: CNV, Retinal Detachment,...
2. to reduce the length of the eyeball in children and in adults

You will need to do a world literature search but the answer is YES:

1. For pathological myopia associated with macular neovascular membranes the newest treatment is intraocular injections of avastin, lucentis or elyea (VGEF-trap eye)
2. For childhood myopia treatments under study include the use of atropine drops, bifocals, and an experimental drop whose name I do not recall now.  Also outdoor play for children may reduce myopia.
