Pediatric Eye MisAlignment

Hello,

I've been noticing that my 4 month old's right eye seems to be off symmetrically in comparison to his left eye. The bottom half of the lower lid seems to be "lax" or looser than the left, and gives the appearance of a bigger, more wide open Right Eye, almost as if it's sinking. But when he laughs or moves the eye in tracking it appears to be fine. Even when he cries the eye seems to be in alignment and symmetrical. I took him to his Pediatric Physician, she noticed what i've described, plus the cranium posteriorly to be asymetrical (or not perfectly round). He has a 2 year old little sister who may have poked him, would trauma do this? or can the muscle around the floor of the eye be causing this, can it be fixed? at 4 months can you check it, diagnose and treat it effectively? what do you think it is? have you ever clinically come across such a thing?

Yes this problem occurs. You need to have your questions answsered by your pediatric ophthalmologist. It is highly unlikely your other child caused this in the infant.
