Permanent lights in vision

Permanent lights in vision

I am 26 years old and since I was a child I have had "dancing lights" that covered everything in my vision. I have 20\20 vision and do not use glasses or contacts of any kind. I just see solid colours with what the best way I can describe is a sheer layers of colourful lights on everything. It does not interfere with being able to see details even small ones. I do suffer from migrains which where much more severe as a teenager then as an adult. I have had a few concusions and have always thought that that may be the cause to it all. However the headaches have become more frequent and before wasting time and money at an eye doctor I was wondering if this is something I should even be concerned about. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

If you have had them all your life and no major issues have developed yet, and you still have 20/20 vision then I would consider that to be a very good sign that you are not going blind.  If you truly seeing layers of colored lights on everything, that  would indeed be quite unusual.  To be honest, I really can't come up with any diagnosis that would fit your symptoms other than persisitant migraines or maybe some unusual type of seizure disorders.  I'm sure you have had MRI's and other testing.  If not get them done. Go ahead and get an evaluation with a neuro-opthalmologist and see what they can come up with. I'm not coming up with anything in particular.
