I have a brother that has a permanent broken blood vessel in his eye. It is bright red and has been there many years now, so it does happen. The dr. commenting may need to do more research or studies, but it definitely happens.

I wear soft contact lenses. My eyes are constantly red. The blood vessels are very pronounced and people around me often comment on them. I have asked opthamologists about them and they have told me they are permanently broken blood vessels. I did not know there was such a thing! I do not know the cause. I do not know if it is allergies to certain things
My opthamologist has given me different drops to help reduce the redness and pronounced vessels. But the drops only reduce the redness a little bit. I have been told not to use Visine to get the redness out as this could make the condition worse. I asked about any types of surgery that could help this condition and I was told there is however, it could make this worse.
What do all of the opthamologists say? Is there anything I can do to make the redness go away completely or to reduce it?
Your statement doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Perhaps you misheard the doctor. Whatever your problem is, I am sure there should be at least some type of treatment that could help your symptoms (although I don't even know what your symptoms are.) I'm sorry but I've never heard of someone having permanantly broken vessels.
