Physiological diplopia?

Physiological diplopia?

Is it normal to see a double image of your own nose when using binocular vision trying to center on it or anyother object? What I see is an image of my nose on each side of my peripheral vision when using binocular vision. I discovered this when I was 6. Is it supposed to be suppressed by consciousness.  Is this normal?

Dear yoyoyup,

When you look at your nose, your eyes will converge and it may be possible to see some double vision.  If you notice any of these same symptoms while reading or without effort, I would definitely recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD.

Wouldn't I always see these two images of my nose as a result of physiological when using binocular vision? Its weird because i discovered it one day when I was young. My nose is pretty big which is probably the problem.
