Piggyback or lasil

Piggyback or lasil

i had an IOL lense implant in 2007 and my vision improved and im no longer wearing glasses i used to wear very thick glasses and could not do anything without them but still  lm having problems with my vision

1. my left eye is a bit left out i cant read or see clearly with my left eye i have to open both eyez in order to see properly im +3 in my left eye +1  in my right eye iif i want to see clear i have to squint my left eye
2. problems with the night vision and also have starbust arounds the lights starburst came after the yag laser that was done after IOL lense implant(Cataract)  i also have astigmatism but my doctor said its not that bad and my cornea is not that clear as it supposed to be

i have spoken with my doctor regarding these problems he suggested the FF

a) to get strong glasses
b) to implant a piggy back lense he said it can bring my left eye to +1 or even 0  but he also said it wont solve the problems with star burst
c)to have a lasik sugery

now im not sure which one to choose whether to go for lasik straight or implant a piggy back and lasik after not sure if it can be done that way

i want something that can improve my vision ASAP i want to be able to drive comfortable like people with normal eyes can any one help please

thanx

I think strongly in a situation like this that you should see 1 or 2 different surgeons to get at least two different opinions. Find refractive surgeons near you at www.aao.org

glasses, contacts or lasik would be the safest options to choose.

1. Piggyback is an intraocular procedure so the risks include infection, bleeding, and very very small chance of loss of vision.
2. Even with a thick cornea and doing PRK its not likely that you can correct more than 7-8 diopters of myopia.
3. Depends on what's causing the starburst.

could it be possible that the shape of my eyes  be the cause of the starbusrt  my eyes are not round as a normal human eye

what is the relation between light rays, shape of the eye ans starburst

No the shape of you eye would not be a factor. Just like people eyes come in a sizes and shapes, the eye is not round. Most people have some degree of astigmatism (aspheric cornea0.
