Please help me! How bad is this prescription???

My almost 8 year old went to the the eye doctor today because her vision was blurry. She has been wearing glasses for 3 years. We already knew that she had an astigmatism but I am thinking her vision is FAR worse than what I was expecting. Please if anyone knows help me out with more details. They wouldn't tell me to much on what to expect for the future. Could this keep getting worse? I have to start patching her 3-4 hours a day for 6 weeks now in the left eye. I already have a severely special needs son...this is the last thing I needed =(
o.d. + 400 - 400 x 009.
o.s. + 325 - 225 x 169.

I really do not understand.  She has been wearing glasses for years and you are starting patching now???  What about in the past.  What is vision with the prescription.

You need to discuss this with your doctor.

My son is 7 years old. He never complaints us for any type of eye problem. recently, with some doublts in my mind i had taken him to an opthalomogist. It was observed that his right eye is SPH +0.5 and CYL -0.75. Left eye is SPH +2.25 and -2.5 CYL. Please help me out whehter this will be correct with time if wears glass continuously. what shall i do to get back his normal vision. please advise. i am very much worried.
