Please help me understand. . . .

This will be long-
Over a month ago after falling asleep with my contacts in I suffered an abrasion to my cornea, it did not respond to bacterial antibiotics and it ulcerated, I was referred out to a very excellent Doctor and he performed a test that took pictures of the infection and found a fungus that we determined probably infected the abrasion while swimming in a public pool.  He adjusted my meds to Baqucil, vigamox, and natacyn.  I have used all three in various doses over the last month- at times every hour 24 hours a day- excluding vigamox only four times daily.  As you can imagine I have been in alot of pain and discomfort.  The abrasion is healing, but the discomfort is not.  Dr. Caldwell performed a culture four days ago, since, my eye has been much worse.  I am using the drops every half hour, excluding the vigamox.  Is it common to have much more blurred vision after such a procedure? And truthfully I am really just wondering when I will start to feel some relief.  Dr. Caldwell is trying to avoid a cornea transplant, I am 27 years old and he said that a cornea transplant could cause problems for me in the future.  I am so sensitive to light that driving is extremely difficult, even leaving light on at home is painful.  I am very concerned about my life in general, this injury is making my everyday activities sometimes nearly impossible.  My main concern is my job.  Is there anything that I can do to ease the pain? Will it really take up to four months to heal?

You have a serious problem. I am hoping that your eye doctor is an Eye MD ophthalmologist. Your only source of person specific information is them.

LET EVERYONE READING THIS REALIZE HOW YOU CAN DAMAGE OR LOSE AN EYE DUE TO CARELESS CONTACT LENS WEARING HABITS. NEVER SWIM IN A CONTACT OR RINSE IT IS EVEN TAP WATER.
