Post Cataract after P-IOL

Post Cataract after P-IOL

follow-up.  After seeing a retinal specialist, who told me my retinas were in very good shape and advised a go ahead for the cataract and IOL removal, I went ahead with the procedure Dec 11 /07.  The surgery went well and the vision did indeed come out better than I could have imagined.  41 days later, I have a prescription for progressive bi-focals.  I hope I can adjust to well.  I am delighted to have a distance vision in the 20/30 ish range with just a little astigmatism help and the reading glasses were inevitable anyway.  I am also amazed at the bright colors I now see in that left eye.  The right eye with P-IOL implant is still in good shape and hopefully I will stay cataract free at least untill I'm old enough to join AARP.

Most pleased and thanks for the follow up.  It takes on the average 2-3 weeks to learn to use a progressive bifocal. Just remember to point your nose at what you're reading or looking at (instead of keeping head still and moving eyes). That keeps your eye aligned with the reading part. Also to lower your chin to your chest and look out of the top when going up/down stairs, looking at the ground and walking.
