Post Op: Scleral Buckle

by Sway803, May 22, 2007 12:00AM
On 5/17/07 I had Scleral Buckle surgery on my right eye. I am able to open my eye to a degree (still a bit swelled) but can't see out of it yet (eye looks like jelly...ewwww).  My question to everybody is:  how long does it take for the swelling to go down and be able to see better?  I'm hoping to be able to go back to work next week.  Any kind of info you can give me would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks in advance!!!

There are kind of retinal detachment operations and complex ones can take the eye 6-12 months to recover. The only person that can tell you how your eye is doing is your surgeon. Keep the communication lines open to your EyeMD.
