Post Orbital Decompression Recovery

Hi,
I had bi-lateral orbital decompression surgery 18 days ago. I am not due to see my doctor again for 2 months(?!). I am not on any medication (pain killers) any longer. I still have swelling and numbness particularly on the left eye and feel quite swollen (pressure) around this area as well as through my nose and top lip. I did see a registrar last week after calling the hospital and was told there was no infection, just to use ice packs and sleep elevated.
I find it takes a couple of hours in the morning for the double vision to go away and when walking around do feel a little strange vision-wise.
Is this all normal for this amount of time after this surgery? Is hard to get information on how long before I should be concerned if symptoms are not improving. I am due to go back to work in a week, work at computer all day and really don't see how I will manage this.
I am aware that numbness around the nose and lip for awhile (2 months, maybe more) is normal, but to feel quite swollen (doesn't look it) like this - still hard to eat/drink etc not so sure about - anything I can do to alleviate this and at what stage should I be concerned and going back to the hospital?
Any advice would be much appreciated!!
