Post YAG "Fogging" Flash

I have now had YAG in second eye 3 mos post Crystalens IOL implants. 2 days after YAG, I am experiencing intermittant disturbances that I could best describe as looking like a quick fogging and clearing, just as a breath on the back of an eyeglass would very quickly fog it up and quickly dissipate. Happens when I move my eye side to side, but not consitantly, nor can I force it to happen -- just seems random with the eye movement. Only upper periphery of vision affected. My readings of many posts on this forum suggest sounds almost similar to those who experienced PVD(?). Can PVD be caused by the YAG laser trauma? I would not describe as "light flashes" so less concerned (panicked) about RD, but can anyone offer insight about my described symptoms? I am traveling for several weeks and will not be able to get to my operating surgeon. Does this sound like it warrants seeing a local MD?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for posting this, It's exactly what I have been experiencing. My eye consultant said it was because my lens was moving and catching the light and that it was common (I had a full examination). It didn't make sense to me, your explanation makes full sense.
again thanks for posting this.

Examined by doctor today and was explained as follows: Not Retinal or PVD problem. The doctor could see a piece of membrane cut by the YAG was flapping around in the Vitreous fluid, moving in and out of field of view with eye movements. When the YAG was done, the surgeon's method was to make an outline of laser blasts about 320 degrees around the circumference of the area to be cut (like a horeshoe) and left the "flap" of membrane to fall and be resorbed, rather than obliterating the entire area of membrane to make the hole. I think that is done to minimize amount of loose membrane pieces that could become floaters. I am told the "flap" piece should dissolve over several weeks to months and thus the flashing of fog will diminish and stop. They will "YAG" out the piece if it fails to resorb in a few weeks.

Hope this helps anyone else with similar observation. Also: This should always be checked by your doctor immediately to rule out more serious retinal problems, etc!
