Post cataract surgery

I had cataract surgery and the lens pocket did not heal smoothly over the IOL (intra ocular lens).
I see a  line on the left side of my eye which obstructs my side vision. The line goes away when I wear my glasses or sunglasses, it's as if light enhances this line. My retina is healthy, but my eye tears a lot and it feels as though my eye ball is swollen.
My doctor thinks that a laser treatment will shrink the pocket making it smoother and tighter. He did not offer a guarantee. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem, and if it was indeed corrected with the laser treatment.
