Post victrectomy gas and high altitude

Post victrectomy gas and high altitude

5 weeks ago I had Vitrectomy, laser and intra-ocular gas for my detached retina. The gas used is the one that stays around for 6 to 8 weeks.  Anyway, the eye surgeon said to avoid high altitudes, but he was a bit vague about the height limit.  I live at sea level and was going to drive on a road that reaches 4300 feet before reaching a destination at 2080ft over the course of a 75 mile drive. ... is that too high?

I would ask the surgeon, but I can't reach him till my next appointment in 2 weeks.

Thanks, Eliot

You have a telephone, your surgeon has a telephone and a staff to answer it and answer your questions. Call him/her
