Posterior Vitrectomy

Posterior Vitrectomy

My father recently had cataracts removed in both eyes.  He is diabetic and lives out of the country.  He tells me that he has blood in his eyes and his doctor has scheduled him for endo laser for posterior vitrectomy.  My dad is coming to visit and I was thinking of having the procedure done here.  He does not have medical insurance and was wondering what price range I will be looking at to have this done per eye.

That would be extremely expensive and by the time you paid office visits, surgical fees, hospital or surgi-center, drugs, etc etc for BOTH eyes you could be looking at expenses of $25-45,000.   You might talk to a retina-vitreous surgeon and see if they would quote you a pre-paid cash discount.
