Problem with the Crystalen accommodating len

I have the Tricus (bifocus for near and far visions) inplanted in my right eye on 03/12/2008. The result was satisfactory even with intermiate vision, except that what I see become lighter than before the operation and there are halos.

Then instead of multifocus len I have the Crystalen accomodating len inplanted in my left eye on 23/01/2009 in the hope not to add to the halos. But the result is not as good and in 5/1/2009's visit the doctor said it is because the len has become an "S" shape. The doctor will give me another operation next week to fix the len to a normal shape, but he said this might happen again.

Seems that there is uncertainty with the Crystalen despite its FDA approval. Would appreciate expert opinion.

There were some reports of z-axis shifting of some of the earlier crystalens models.  The lenses got a little twisted or torqued in some patients due to the small optic and flexibled haptics.   I have not personally heard of any cases with the new crystalens HD model with a larger optic and haptics.  It can be a difficult problem to fix and I wish you all the best and hope your surgeon has good success.  In some cases, a different lens can sometimes be placed in the ciliary sulcus if necessary.   I'm sorry but I have not personally dealt with any of these z-axis cases but I suspect that you will still have good vision but probably will have much less near vison than the other eye.
