Progressive Lens Glasses Frame Dimension

Can anyone advise me on the effect of the height of progressive lens glasses lenses on one's ability to see far, medium, and near distances? Does a larger lens size facilitate seeing with progressive lenses or does it matter what size the lens is? Does a shorter height lens require you to move your head more? Can one see equally well out of smaller size lenses? What has been your experience?

You will probably need to go with a little larger lens than you might otherwise with single-vision lenses.  There has to be room to accommodate the change in optic power.  But you should still be able to get pretty stylish -- my lens size is only about 1 1/2 inches high and I am quite myopic.  I don't have any difficulty seeing with my current (smaller) lenses, and I didn't notice any issue when I moved to a smaller lens size from the larger ones that were previously in fashion.

My experience is the same as cwatt1:  I wore progressives for decades (until my cataract surgery), and I bought a new pair of glasses every year. The last pair I had were quite small, and they worked just fine.  The frame fitter at the optometrist office only showed me frames that work with progressives, but it seemed to me that was pretty much all of them at the time.
